The Brabham BT52 was a Brabham team single-seater designed by Gordon Murray for the 1983 Formula 1 season. The car ran on Michelin tires and was powered by the powerful turbocharged BMW M12/13 engine that in 1983 produced a maximum of about 800 bhp (600 kW) on the qualifying map, detuned to around 640 bhp (480 kW) on the race map. Its drivers were 1981 champion Nelson Piquet and Riccardo Patrese.
