Petticoat, White Cotton with Broderie Anglaise Frill ; Unknown maker; 1900-1910;

By A Mystery Man Writer

This is a heavy white cotton petticoat with two layers at the hem. The upper frill is made from broderie anglaise, set beneath a line of pintucks and an inserted length of lace. There are three cotton covered buttons at the waist and a drawstring which gathers the front section of this garment. It is in great condition, with evidence of the bluing which was used in laundering to keep white articles looking white.
